This is Harry Partch, who’s pretty cool. He built his own instruments and used his own scales for his music, which, more than anybody, makes him a pioneer in the field of music. He was inspired by speech, and felt that traditional tuning wasn’t adequate to express the nuances of speech, so he made his own scales with microtones. His most common scale was a 43-tone scale. This is not in that scale; this is his Two Studies on Ancient Greek scales.
